Transfer of the Greek TMO to the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization
According to Law 4796/2021 (G.G. A' 63) entitled "Simplification of the framework for the exercise of economic activities under the responsibility of the Ministries of Development and Investment, Labour and Social Affairs, Maritime and Insular Policy, Infrastructure, and Transport, arrangements for the transfer to the Industrial Property Organization of the competence regarding trademarks, other provisions for the strengthening of development and other urgent regulations",
the competence of the Greek Trademark Office shall be transferred from the General Secretariat of Commerce and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investment as provided for in Law 4679/2020, to the legal entity "Industrial Property Organization" ("O.B.I."), established by Law 1733/1987 and supervised by the Ministry of Development and Investment.
In view of this, the electronic trademark register, the trademark archive, the information systems, as well as the archive of the Trademark Administrative Committee shall all be transferred to the Industrial Property Organisation (O.B.I.). The Greek Trademark Office will be accessible to the public from Tuesday, 10th of May, 2022.
